#IndieWeekend: Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Zack Sabre, Jr.

Want to take a break from what mainstream promotions like WWE and Impact Wrestling dish out every week on TV (and online, for that matter)? Smark Henry's got you covered, pal, as we take a look at some independent wrestling promotions in #IndieWeekend!

How's everyone? Had a blast at WrevolutionX? Sure hope so, it was a great show.

While we wait for the videos that are surely gonna come from the event, let's veer toward other good stuff we can watch. Revolution Pro is one of the biggest promotions in the UK, partnered up with the likes of Global Force Wrestling, New Japan, NOAH, Evolve, Dragon Gate, and so on. That means they frequently play host to the best wrestlers in the world, and some of the best matches you'll ever see.

And this one is no exception. It's one of the greatest wrestlers to come out of Japan versus one of the greatest young technicians of this generation clashing at Revolution Pro: Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Zack Sabre, Jr from their show Summer Sizzler 2014. It's only a little over 15 minutes long, but it's a whole lot of fun to watch; a clash of styles that, when you think about it, don't really clash that much. Captain Swagsuke brings the fight his way with his signature Strong Style knees and strikes, while ZSJ tries to break his arm with submission hold after submission hold.

They exchange offense a lot, with Nakamura even stealing Sabre's Cross Armbreaker and Sabre kicking out at one after a Boma Ye (!!!). But eventually, as much as Zack tries, he's no match for a second Boma Ye. It's admittedly not the best match we know these two could produce; I felt like it was merely an abridged version of a five-star classic they could have, but can't really pull off because of the relatively limited time.

It's still awesome, though. We're only scratching the surface of greatness. Check it out here:

What did you think? Like Nakamura? Like Sabre? Hate them? This match not live up to standards? Let us know in the comments!
