#MustWatchMonday (5/25/15): An Angel from Heaven

Last week was a great time to be a wrestling fan. WWE gave us Payback, while its developmental brand NXT had another solid live event with Takeover: Unstoppable. NJPW kicked off its annual Best of the Super Juniors tournament last week. We also had PWR’s Wrevolution X, which once again brought the house down at Makati Cinema Square.  And if that wasn’t enough, we still had all the weekly shows (RAW, Smackdown, TNA, Lucha Underground) last week!

That’s a lot of wrestling content to go through, so you might have missed some of the amazing stuff that happened. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. So for today, we’re putting the spotlight on Lucha Underground.

Last week’s show featured a ladder match for the Trios Championship, where Ivelisse, Angelico and Son of Havoc defended their titles against The Crew. With Son of Havoc out, Angelico too far away, and Ivelisse on one leg, things looked grim for the defending champions. As the Crew climbed up the ladder, though, there came a gift from the heavens.

Angelico, who was earlier laid out on the roof, comes to his team's rescue by leaping towards the ring and landing a dropkick onto Cortez Castro, taking him out. Check out the airtime on that dive. That's an insane spot, and look at how the crowd eats it up! Heck, see that guy in white getting up and running up the stands? That's their commentator Vampiro, who took off his headset and ran into the stands to celebrate the epic moment he just saw.

The best part about this, though, is that this isn't the first time Angelico has done something like that. He did it the first time they faced the Crew for the titles, and that one's just as good. Check it out below:

Now, Lucha Underground doesn't have spots like this every week. Still, if you're looking for something refreshing to watch, I highly suggest it. The storylines are well-written, the characters are compelling, and the in-ring work is excellent. This is one of the best wrestling shows out there right now, and you're doing yourself a disservice by not tuning in to it.

That, and of course, to see what crazy thing Angelico will do next. Keep an eye out for him.
