Rusev Injured At Smackdown Taping

WWE has announced that Rusev suffered an injury during Tuesday's Smackdown tapings in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Rusev was competing in a match against Ryback when the injury happened. He was attended to by medical staff after finishing his match, and is currently being evaluated for a lower leg injury.

With Rusev originally scheduled to compete at the upcoming Elimination Chamber match for the vacant Intercontinental Championship, this unfortunate incident changes things. In the event that Rusev may not be cleared to compete by Sunday (Monday morning in the Philippines), WWE will need to replace him with another wrestler. Notable names without a match announced for Elimination Chamber include Roman Reigns, Stardust, The Miz and Bray Wyatt, so look for WWE to insert one of these men into the match as a replacement.

We wish Rusev a speedy recovery, and hope to see him back in a WWE ring soon.
