Smark Henry Survey (5/8/2015): Who Are The Greatest Factions Of All Time?

We love factions. Factions are one of the great traditions of professional wrestling, from the legendary groups of yesteryear like the Four Horsemen, the Fabulous Freebirds, and the Heenan Family, to more recent stables like the Bullet Club, the Shield, and current WWE Tag Team Champions the New Day.

But we want to hear your voice: Who was the greatest faction of them all?

Speak up, smarks! Vote in the comment section below with your top five wrestling factions of all time. Order doesn't matter in the tabulation, so you don't have to overthink how you vote!

Consider things like overall dominance, star power, longevity, and championship pedigree. If a faction has had different incarnations, like the Horsemen or DX did, please indicate which one in particular you're referring to.

We'll be publishing the results in the next edition of People Power, our weekly fan survey here at Smark Henry, so make your voices heard!

    1. Respectfully disagreeing with Nexus for several reasons:
      - too short-lived to matter
      - failed to establish all its members as individuals
      - mishandled split with the Corre
      - unnatural transition to Punk's leadership

Nobody can deny the level of talent in Nexus, and the collective impact they had at the start -- their main roster debut was one of the most memorable moments/segments in the last ten years. But as a whole, their run felt kinda lackluster.

Of course, none of this was the fault of the actual wrestlers. Most of them played their roles well. It was really a matter of sub-par booking.

  10. In no particular order:
    1. nWo (1996, when it was exciting)
    2. DX (post-WrestleMania 1998)
    3. Nation Of Domination - (JC Ice & Wolfie D's live rap, the gear, the fact that it launched/revitalized careers like D'Lo's and Maivia's, the stories of power coups and heel turns of Henry, Maivia, & Johnson, the awkward Black Hart phase, etc.---it was fun.
    4. Hart Foundation (1997) - One time, they held all the titles, and Owen had Slammys and that made for the wordiest standard introduction I can remember.
    5. The Shield - In-ring, their chemistry in matches that involved all members are probably better than any other factions'.
