Impact Wrestling Results (7/29/15)

Jeff Jarrett was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame, Magnus and Mickie James faced James Storm and Serena, and Austin Aries issued a challenge to a former X Division Champion.

"The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived" Austin Aries kicked off Impact Wrestling. Aries was upset because he was not included in last week's #1 contender's match for the TNA World Title.

TNA authority figure Bully Ray then emerged to point out that Aries had just been defeated by Kurt Angle weeks ago, and he and Bobby Roode lost in the Best of 5 Series for the TNA World Tag Team Titles. Bully Ray suggested that Aries vie for the X Division Title, but Aries refused, saying that he'd been there, and that the X Division needs him more than he needs it.

He added that the X Division "was made for guys like Rockstar Spud." Cue the former X Division Champion, who took offense to what Aries had said. Aries then thought of facing Rockstar Spud to see if Spud could beat him, then went on to say that he would even leave TNA if he can't beat Spud.

Bully Ray heard this, then made it official: Austin Aries vs Rockstar Spud next week. If Aries loses, he leaves TNA. If Aries wins, he gets... Rockstar's name?!? So he could be called Rockstar Austin Aries, and Spud would be just... Spud.

1. Eric Young def. Sgt. Chris Melendez (w/ Kurt Angle) via a piledriver

Backstage, Jeremy Borash interviewed Matt Hardy about his TNA World Title shot and the stipulation for that match. Matt said that "they" haven't decided yet and "they" would let everybody know once "they" do.

2. TNA Knockouts Championship: Brooke Tessmacher def. Marti Bell (w/ Taryn Terrell and Jade) via the Butterface Maker to retain her title
- Gail Kim made the save when Taryn tried to interfere in the match

A video package of Jeff Jarrett's career aired (he would be inducted tonight), followed by an interview with X Division Champion Tigre Uno, who talked about Donald Trump.

Then, in the ring, TNA World Champion Ethan Carter III talked about Matt Hardy. He chided his brother Jeff for the injury he sustained after falling off a bike.

Cue Jeff Hardy! The former World Champion made his return, and introduced his brother, Matt! Together, they announced the stipulation for next week's World Title match: a Full Metal Mayhem! Plus, nobody will be allowed at ringside!

3. Magnus and Mickie James def. James Storm and Serena
- Mickie pinned Serena after a DDT. After the match, Mickie hit Storm with a DDT, too!

After the break, Dixie Carter formally inducted Jeff Jarrett into the TNA Hall of Fame.
