Social Media Round-Up: PWR Live

We're still trying to catch our collective breath here at the Smark Henry offices after the chaos of PWR Live last weekend. The PWR universe is still buzzing over the dynamite-packed opening round of the Philippine Hybrid X (PHX) championship tournament, "Classical" Bryan Leo's epic championship defense against "The Senyorito" Jake De Leon, the Royal Flush's John Sebastian thrilling upset win over the veteran Bombay Suarez, and The Apocalypse carving a path of destruction through half the roster.

But in the meantime, let's take a quick scan of what the PWR talents themselves have to say after their spectacular performance in front of a packed Makati Square Arena crowd.

General Manager Mr. Sy is beaming like a proud daddy, spreading some magnanimity around despite the events that left several superstars injured.

Before the weekend is over, I just want to thank everybody who was a part of #PWRLive last night. From my brothers and...

It's impossible to stop reigning PWR Champion and King of the Royal Flush "Classical" Bryan Leo from gloating, and that's exactly what he did, crowing over his triumph over Jake De Leon.

To those of you who don't know, you should know, last night I was battered and bruised, but far from beaten as I did...

The enigmatic Queen of the Royal Flush, Scarlett, was typically tight-lipped, but was ecstatic enough over Leo's successful defense to grace us with four words.

PWR Live! Hell Yeah!

"The Senyorito" Jake De Leon may be battered and bruised, but seems to still be raring to stay in the race for the PWR crown—just as soon as he gets his injured leg tended to.

After #PWRLive last night, I need to have my leg checked up again. I just hope it's not that bad. I can't wait to get my hands on Bryan Leo, The Royal Flush, and The Apocalypse.

Nobody likes dudes going around telling everyone "I told you so," but we don't think "Cutthroat" John Sebastian got the message, as he unleashed a choice barrage for all his doubters.

At PWR Live, I said I was gonna be victorious over Bombay Suarez. Everybody else thought that it wasn't gonna happen......

The "Heart and Soul of PWR" Bombay Suarez was benevolent in his praise for the fans, but sounds like he's supremely pissed off after getting robbed of victory and falling to the skulduggery of the Royal Flush.

I was happy that PWR LIVE was a success last night. I am honored the fans enjoyed the matches. What pissed me off last...

We've heard that the majority of the PHX competitors are nursing battered, bruised bodies after their daredevil theatrics, but that didn't stop most of them from taking to social media to share their thoughts.

Mayhem Brannigan had a lot to celebrate as he advanced to the semifinals of the PHX tournament, and sends a shout-out to the fans who powered him to victory over the surprisingly tough Miguel Rosales of Fighters 4 Hire.

You guys rock. Thank you to every single one of you. Every single one of you that made up that crowd of OVER 600...

"The Social Media Sinister" Ken Warren comes across as a sore winner, grabbing the opportunity to talk more trash over the Fighters 4 Hire's Joey Bax, the man he felled with a massive superkick to win his own quarterfinal match in the PHX tournament.

Does he even have a home? Dude's a 1/2 a man that looks like a hobo pathetic excuse of a @RusevBUL cosplay all in 1. https://t.co/EIKvXIdzJo

Ralph Imabayashi was gracious in bestowing praise to Peter Versoza, whom he defeated in a match many have labeled the match of the night.

Give props to Peter Versoza that was one of the best matches I've ever had. Moving forward to the road to PHX there's Ken Warren and I'll beat him too.

After swallowing his fourth straight loss in a classic high-octane match with Chris Panzer, Dual Shock's SANDATA posted a rant for the ages on his Facebook page, unleashing the simmering frustration that has apparently been building up for the fearless masked gladiator.

Talo na naman.Ano pang masasabi ko? Talagang magaling na kalaban si Chris Panzer - PWR. Sinabi ko nga na siya at ang...

Peter Versoza may have been a complete gentleman in defeat to Imabayashi, but took this one last opportunity to reminisce about what may have been his finest moment of the match.

The Apocalypse made a rare statement on his Facebook page, proclaiming his evil intentions to ride to the top of PWR, "Classical" Bryan Leo and Jake De Leon be damned.

The holy grail shall be in my hand, I am The Apocalypse... #PWRLive #PWR #PWRTheApocalypse

We reported earlier that Kanto Terror was recovering from his eye injury at Makati Medical Center, but are now confident that he's in a comfortable place with some prospective hijas.

salamat sa mga pumunta sa PWR live, salamat sa suporta... kasalukuyang nasa ospital ako ngayon.

Never change, KT. Never change.

While we're rounding up the Sports5.ph streams of all the matches in a separate post for your viewing pleasure, we'll leave you with this little featurette by GMA News.

Hellz yeah, Philippines. Nauuso nga ulit ang pro wrestling, and we have PWR to thank for this.
