The Grapevine (8/10/15): Karma Comes Around For Sheamus

Good morning, everyone! Welcome to the Grapevine, and for those who need to catch up, here's our round-up of the (technically unconfirmed) dirt and rumors from the cartoon world of pro wrestling that you may have missed over the weekend.

We have some interesting news that came in over the past couple of days you were chilling:

  • Sheamus may have suffered a concussion. He was not on last week's Australia tour, and it very likely happened during the six-man tag main event from last Monday's RAW. It did not appear to be too serious as he was still able to finish the match. (Source: F4WOnline, WrestlingInc)

We say: We're not going to say that this is karma for his tight working; we don't need any more top guys going down. We're glad he's okay, but if he can get relative clearance, then why isn't Daniel Bryan allowed to work?

    • There have been some rumors that WWE is meeting with Destination America. WWE's trying to get networks to pick up Superstars and/or Main Event, and perhaps maybe NXT. Beyond rumors of talks, nothing more is confirmed. (Source: WrestlingInc)

We say: Other than it's another obvious salvo in the petty little WWE/ROH war, the problem with the shows they're trying to sell (with the obvious exception of NXT) is that if you spend the bare minimum of effort, creative-wise, on these shows, how would you be able to get networks to buy in? Sure, the wrestling is decent to solid, but we have a feeling they're going to need to be more than just throwaway recap shows if they want to be picked up.

We say: If this has been back-and-forth to you, well, such is the nature of backstage rumors in pro wrestling. Whether it's Beef Mode or Leo Kruger, we think it's just safe to say that we're looking forward to the next chapter in Ray Leppan's WWE career.

What do you think? Who do you want Adam Rose to be next? Let us know in the comments!
