The Grapevine (8/14/15): #DivaSearchBack

Good morning, everyone! Welcome to the Grapevine, and for those who need to catch up, here's our round-up of the (technically unconfirmed) dirt and rumors from the cartoon world of pro wrestling that you may have missed over the evening.

Something's cooking in the WWE's labs:

  • You may have heard recently that the WWE is planning to bring the Diva Search back. It seems true, but instead of being on TV, it's going to be on the WWE Network. Considering that the original Diva Search format is what Tough Enough is using in its poorly-received current season, they're restructuring the format before they come out with it. (Source: WON)

We say: First of all, after everything that happens down at the Performance Center, we're not really sure why there still needs to be a Diva Search. Tough Enough as well, actually, although strangely, the Diva Search has a better track record in producing stars. Anyway, here's a suggestion: why not try making the Diva Search like the original Tough Enough since they're going to try and become wrestlers anyway?

  • The official Owen Hart DVD and Blu-ray set is finally happening. According to WrestlingDVDNews.com, Owen Hart: Hart of Gold is coming out on December 7 in the UK and December 8 in the US. (Source: WrestlingDVDNews.com)

We say: Finally! We wonder, however, if Owen's widow Martha actually did sign off on this project. We just hope there's no more trouble on that end.

  • The Rock might be showing up at SummerSlam. In an interview with FOX Sports, Roman Reigns said that he doesn't want to give anything away with regard to his cousin showing up at the event.

We say: That's... a pretty dead giveaway that something's happening. Should've just said no, Joe.

  • For those who aren't in tune with the goings-on in hip-hop, as his first real shot against Drake, Meek Mill released a track that samples the Undertaker's theme. But he says he's "dropping the beef" with Drake and pulled the track from his Soundcloud page. The truth is simpler: the WWE sent him a cease-and-desist letter. (Source: VH1)

We say: So weak. That's another L in a long string of them for Meek Mill.

What do you think? Do you want the Diva Search back? Would you want to see the Rock at SummerSlam? Were you among those waiting for a long time for the Owen DVD? Let us know in the comments!
