The Grapevine (8/27/15): Bo-eauty and the Beast

Good morning, everyone! Welcome to the Grapevine, where we round up the (technically unconfirmed) rumors from the wild world of pro wrestling that you may have missed since last night.

There's a couple of rather interesting rumors, including an update from yesterday's rumor, so let's get right to it!

  • We're afraid we've got some bad news! Yesterday, we talked about the possibility of Wade Barrett being done with the WWE after some recent actions on social media. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has stated that Barrett's status with the company has "not changed", and that Stardust's attack on the King of the Ring winner is due to Barrett taking some time off to film WWE Studios' upcoming action movie eliminators.

We say: Good news, indeed. Barrett is one of the better talents in the WWE right now, and hopefully they have something for him once he comes back from filming. Please.

  • Bo Dallas may be about to die (again). Bryan Alvarez from is reporting that Bo Dallas will get to go one on one with Brock Lesnar at the special live event this October at Madison Square Garden, which airs exclusively on the WWE Network. Alvarez also mentioned a couple of other matches scheduled for the event (mostly Summerslam rematches and a Chris Jericho return), but this is the matchup that looks the most, uh, intriguing. We say: Are you ready to Bolieve? Also, Smark Henry is now taking bets as to whether or not Bo will last longer than Kofi Kingston (RIP) did against the Beast Incarnate at Beast in the East.

  • We may see more of Jushin 'Thunder' Liger in the WWE. One promoter noted to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that they tried to book NJPW star Jushin 'Thunder' Liger for a couple of dates, but was told that he has already been booked by the WWE. (Source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter)

We say: HOLY SHIT! If this is true, then this is easily one of the best things WWE has done this year. Liger may be old, but he's still pretty good in the ring, and it'll be interesting to see him go up against some of WWE/NXT's big stars. I wouldn't mind a Finn B├ílor vs. Liger match, or Samoa Joe vs. Liger. Remember when Joe tweeted about rewriting the way this business works? this may be one of the things he meant by that.

What do you think? Will Bo make Brock Lesnar a Boliever? Who do you want to see Liger square off with at NXT? Let us know in the comments section below!
