The Grapevine (9/24/15): Sting's Neck Is Not Broken

Good morning, everyone! Welcome to the Grapevine, where we round up the (technically unconfirmed) rumors from the wild world of pro wrestling that you may have missed over the evening.

We've got a quick update on Stang's Night of Champions injury:

  • As of yesterday, WWE is at least sure that Sting's neck is not broken. The prognosis is still unconfirmed, and they still have concerns of a spinal injury, but it seems to be the consensus that Sting has wrestled his last match in a while. In an interview with WWE.com, Sting says he just feels sore and has a stiff neck, and puts the blame on himself for bumping the wrong way for Seth's buckle bomb. The finish of the match was the planned finish, only that they got to it quicker because of the injury. (Source: F4WOnline)

We say: That's a bit of a relief to hear. We're really hoping it's not another Tyson Kidd or Edge injury.

  • Vince McMahon is apparently freaking out over the low WWE ratings again. The ratings are usually lower than they are around this time due to the NFL regular season being underway. The company usually makes a big change whenever Vince freaks out. (Source: WrestlingInc)

We say: This seems like a natural occurrence at Titan Towers. If it's true, then why can't Vince just tell stories the right way, build stars organically, and listen to what the fans really want?

We say: As much as we don't like the oppression of civil liberties (whether it be by a private entity or the government), it's a bitter pill fans will have to swallow for a little while if it means events are more secure and people learn their lesson. They'll just have to wait for the heat to die down.

What do you think? Again, is Seth reckless, or was it Sting's fault too? Is WWE doing the right thing by being stricter with fans? Let us know what you think in the comments!
