Is John Cena Burning Out?

We reported a couple of days back that John Cena may be looking to take the rest of the year off, given that he seems to have been pulled from all house shows, TV tapings, and a European tour in between the upcoming Hell in a Cell pay-per-view and a December 30 house show at Toronto.

Looks like the rumors may be true, based on a post spotted on his personal Instagram account.

If this is in fact alluding to an upcoming break for the leader of the CeNation, we gotta say the dude deserves a damn break.

According to our good buddies over at the Internet Wrestling Database, John Cena has worked the fifth heaviest load in the past three years, trailing just Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Dolph Ziggler in total volume of matches—and take note that the average age among those four competitors is 31 years old, compared to Cena's 38 years of age.

Comparing workloads among a select sample of the more popular workers in the WWE.

And let's not forget his prodigous commitment to the Make A Wish Foundation as the only person in history to have granted 500 wishes.

We can't ignore his blossoming acting career either, with Cena having appeared in such projects as Amy Schumer's Trainwreck, the Fred franchise, Parks & Recreation, The Marine, and 12 Rounds, among other things, with the Amy Poehler/Tina Fey starrer Sisters still to come.

There's his legendary commitment to fitness as well, with his multiple magazine cover shoots, burgeoning fitness empire, a gym of his own to run, and trademark gym ethic going even stronger at 38 years than it was when he was 28.

Of course, it would be no surprise that Cena would need time off, given the injuries he's accumulated throughout his career that he never seems to have properly slowed down for.

Hey, there's at least one thing to get excited about. If Jearn finally slows down and gives himself a real break at home for once, maybe he'll finally get around to proposing and making freakishly strong babies with Nikki Bella.

Go get some Netflix and chill, John. You've earned it.

What will you miss most about John Cena if he does take the rest of the year off? Do you think he's being a whiny little bitch about burning out, or do you think he's entirely justified? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below, CeNation.
