BREAKING: Seth Rollins Out for 6-9 Months

It's official: WWE has confirmed that Seth Rollins is out.

Yesterday's Grapevine covered a rumor that Rollins may have gotten injured at a WWE live event in Dublin, Ireland, and it seems the worst has come true. WWE is reporting that Rollins has torn his ACL, MCL and his medial meniscus, and is expected to be out for around 6-9 months.

WWE has wasted no time addressing this unfortunate incident's effect on Survivor Series, as Rollins was originally scheduled to defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Roman Reigns. Instead, a tournament will be held at the PPV to determine a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

A quick thought on the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Tournament: this definitely has big implications on the main event scene moving forward, and is sure to shake up the title picture in the coming months. With Rollins out, the immediate answer is easily Roman Reigns, as he's been primed to finally win the big championship soon. Nevertheless, you can't count off the WWE from pressing the panic button, and this may mean the return of certain wrestlers such as John Cena earlier than expected. On the plus side, we might get to see some guys shine and gain some more momentum in the tournament. Guys like Cesaro and Dean Ambrose should benefit from having a vacancy at the top to fill, but it remains to be seen how WWE will play this one out.

From all of us here at the Smark Henry offices, we wish Seth Rollins nothing but a speedy and full recovery.
