The Grapevine (11/5/15): The Champ Is Hurt

Good morning, everyone! Welcome to the Grapevine, where we round up the (technically unconfirmed) rumors from the wild world of pro wrestling that you may have missed over the evening.

Other than a huge injury scare, it's a slow day for wrestling news:

  • Seth Rollins has possibly gotten injured at a live WWE event in Dublin. His leg buckled as he was going for a sunset flip, forcing the match to end early as he couldn't put any pressure on it. The word going around backstage is that he merely tweaked his knee, and he should be good to go for the rest of the European tour after taping it. Of course, they're still going to have it looked at, as the severity of the injury is still unknown; it has been noted by a source, however, that it's a kind of in-ring accident that happens all the time. (Source: WrestlingInc, PWInsider)

We say: This is exactly what we were afraid of when the WWE was having Rollins wrestle a marathon schedule as champ. Granted, it's more likely to be a freak accident than it is an issue of wear-and-tear, but the company needs to ease up. If the injury does turn out to be bad, it looks like we're getting the Roman Reigns WrestleMania moment ahead of time.

  • For what it's worth, Damien Sandow's WWE.com profile has now been renamed back to Damien Sandow. It had still been Macho Mandow (even though Curtis Axel had been renamed back much earlier after the Hulk Hogan scandal) for a while now. There is a photo of him as Macho Mandow on the page, though. We say: Can we please finally get this man back on TV? You've killed all momentum he's gotten after the Miz feud, so he's now free to be reshaped however WWE wants him. Are you happy now, Vince? Are you happy that you've killed all organic momentum? You can move on to trying to sabotage Cesaro now!

What do you think? Is it time for Rollins to drop the championship? Do you want to see Sandow back on your screens? Let us know in the comments!
