The Grapevine (3/2/16): This Time Baby, I'll Be Bulletproof

Good morning, and this is your daily Grapevine! This is where we round up the most interesting rumors and news happening in the wild world of wrestling that you may have missed over the evening.

We've got some updates on a certain Clique of Ammunition:

  • Apparently, Vince wants the Bulletproof Balor Club to debut next week at the Chicago RAW with Finn Balor, Karl Anderson, and Doc Gallows. Triple H has argued that Finn has to stay in NXT until at least after WrestleMania, as he has to drop the NXT Championship first. Vince, on the other hand, isn't worried about the championship scenario that much.

The conflict over NXT's role continues as Vince doesn't want it to become a separate brand as he clearly sees it as a developmental territory. (On a related note, Vince doesn't see the point of having WWN/EVOLVE as a farm league because of this.) (Source: Wrestling News World)

We say: We're not sure what to make of this news as it doesn't come from the usual sources, but if it is true, we're both appalled and unsurprised at the same time. (Yes, that is possible.) Regardless of how Vince feels about NXT, let's zero in on the important issue: why should the BBC debut a month before WrestleMania, even if this year's show might be the most hamstrung in recent history? The only way this makes real sense to us is if Shane brings all of them in to fight for him against the Undertaker, which WWE doesn't seem to lean toward anyway. Needless to say, we don't have that much faith in the WWE's writing right now.

  • If you're wondering why the Miz beat Dolph Ziggler in a fairly quick match, it's because they're building up the Miz for a key match at WrestleMania. Word is there is going to be a multi-man match on the show, possibly for the Intercontinental Championship once again. (Source: F4WOnline)

We say: Considering the champion Kevin Owens also lost to the Big Show last night, it's possible that this is where we're headed. We're just not sure why it had to be done like this.

What do you think? Should the Balor Club debut now? When do you want Ambrose to have his title shot? Let us know what you think in the comments!
