The Grapevine (3/9/16): The World, 2.0

Good morning, and this is your daily Grapevine! This is where we round up the most interesting rumors and news happening in the wild world of wrestling that you may have missed over the evening.

A bit of a slow news day coming out of this week's RAW:

  • Seems like a WWE-themed restaurant, complete with a possible physical Hall of Fame-like feature, will be headed to Orlando in time for WrestleMania 33. Attractions Management Magazine is reporting that the WWE establishment is going to replace NBA City at Universal CityWalk. WWE hasn't been in the restaurant game since operating WWF New York/The World, which closed in 2003. (Source: Attractions Management Magazine)

We say: We think it's important to note that this sounds like a restaurant/cafe first and a Hall of Fame building second, judging from how the news is written. Either way, why didn't they get back in the game sooner? People love theme restaurants, and putting one up in Orlando sounds like a pretty good idea.

  • Garza Jr., son of former WCW star Hector Garza, will be getting a WWE tryout. The younger Garza, who is currently working for AAA, is pretty much set to sign with the company, presumably for the Global Cruiserweight Series. Garza is young, but has been wrestling for quite a while, and is expected to bring veteran-level experience to NXT. Garza's cousin Ultimo Ninja is also trying out, as the company is looking for tall, athletic luchadors. (Source: PWInsider)

We say: Garza Jr. sounds cool enough, but ULTIMO NINJA? Here's Garza and Ninja with two other luchadors you may have heard of:

We're in.

  • While they're now building up Brie Bella vs. Lana for WrestleMania, word is that Lana still isn't ready for a singles match. That, and she apparently has new heat on her despite being on TV. No word yet if the match is actually pushing through. (Source: F4W)

We say: This is still a bad idea, and if she has heat and can't really wrestle yet, why is she going to wrestle? No, don't tell us. We know the answer. We just want to pretend to not hear it.

What do you think? Would you eat at a WWE-themed restaurant? Would you support a local pro wrestling-themed restaurant? Do you want to see Lana wrestle? Let us know what you think in the comments!
