El Dragon: The Battleborn Character for the Wrestling Badasses

For the smark gaming contingent, it is an accepted fact that Borderlands is one of the greatest games to come along the past decade, with its diverse mechanics, addicting gameplay, and of course, its off-the-wall humor.

And while we are still waiting for any form of Borderlands 3 announcement, 2K Games and Gearbox Software will give us the next best thing: Battleborn: the game for every kind of badass. As the first new IP of the developer since Borderlands, the space opera-esque game will feature unique FPS elements introduced in Borderlands while implementing multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) mechanics. Think League of Legends plus Borderlands. For shooter fans, this should be more than enough to satisfy their trigger fingers.

“But Lance, this is a wrestling site. How does it have any thing to do with US RASSLIN’ FANS?”

Hold your horses, guys, we’re about to get to that!

A few days back, Gearbox finally announced the last two characters that will round off the 25-
character roster. And believe me, you are going to love entry number 25:

Okay, first off, El Dragon looks like he’s a cybernetically-enhanced luchador from Lucha Underground who never knew when to skip weight day and had way too much protein for his own good. And true to form, his approach is way more than that of a melee fighter (expected to have a good defense rating), who can bash his way against enemies while utilizing a clothesline that would make even JBL envious.

Yep, you won't want to fuck with this dude.

He can also perform a splash against a multitude of enemies that even Hiroshi Tanahashi could not match. And worse comes to worst, he can make use of his En Fuego finishing maneuver to eliminate multiple enemies at a time! And when you consider that he powers up every time he kills his opponents, you realize he’s certainly a tank of a wrestler.

When you see this motherfucker charging towards you, you run the fuck out of his way.

This is how badass it will be to play using El Dragon.

With so many bizarre characters in the game, from a polite and respectful killer butler to a hostile mushroom, El Dragon will feel right at home.

Battleborn is expected to be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 6, 2016. Be sure to regularly check with your local gaming stores for updates on its release as well as potential pre-order bonuses!

Lance Tan Ong has been a banking guy for the past few years but a wrestling guy for most of his life. And after checking out matches of Mitsuharu Misawa and Shinya Hashimoto at an early age, he's also pretty much a puro guy as well. Currently checking out WWE (mostly NXT), NJPW, DDT, and other promotions that catch and demand attention. He currently handles NJPW news and coverage for Smark Henry.
