Chikara Is Coming Up With Their Own Video Game

In the world of wrestling video games, it's pretty tough to unseat the WWE machine. Even though Fire Pro Wrestling is acclaimed to be a much better game, it doesn't have the name recall of both WWE and 2K, and even before the big game company assimilated the WWE property, other offerings from places such as TNA, unaffiliated pro wrestling legends, and Def Jam have never really made a dent. As a result, the wrestling game landscape remains largely homogeneous.

Like in the real world, although they're probably not going to shake up the status quo, indy promotion Chikara is coming out with their own video game, called Chikara Action Arcade Wrestling. Check out the early development trailer here:

The game feels like a sweet mashup of WWE's cult favorite game WWE All Stars and the newer-gen Street Fighter titles. It's powered by Unreal Engine 4, which is how it looks absolutely pretty. It's not gonna be for every wrestling fan, but it already looks like a lot of fun.

What do you think? Would you play this game when it comes out? Let us know what you think in the comments!
