The Grapevine (4/13/16): Warehouse Blues

Good morning, and welcome to the daily Grapevine! Here is where we round up all the rumors, hearsay and tidbits of news from the wild world of professional wrestling that you may have missed over the evening.

You may have heard about TNA's dire situation lately:

  • There are some rather conflicting stories surrounding TNA moving its headquarters to their Shop TNA warehouse. Some reports are saying that they were evicted from their offices after the lease expired, but others are saying that officials have been "planning this move for some time." Production operations will be housed in a different building, NorthStar Productions, which is the biggest production facility in Nashville. (Source: Wrestling Observer Live, F4WOnline)

We say: That does not sound good at all. At the very least, Impact Wrestling is doing numbers Pop TV is happy with.

  • Kota Ibushi claims that he had no contract negotiations with WWE while he was in Dallas. Despite that, it's noted that WWE would not put him prominently on screen if they weren't confident that he was coming in, as they did with other stars, and it could just be a case of Ibushi being told to downplay any buzz. Ibushi also confirmed that he would be wrestling for the Inoki Genome Federation, partly to study Antonio Inoki. (Source: Wrestling Observer Radio, Tokyo Sports)

We say: This makes sense—why would anyone try to ruin the surprise? But on the other hand, WWE needs to stop creating these problems for itself. We get that you're super excited to have these guys under your umbrella, but maybe don't blow your load too soon?

What do you think? Is this year really TNA's last? Do you think Ibushi is really coming to WWE? Let us know what you think in the comments!
