The Grapevine (4/25/16): On Chyna

Good morning, and welcome to the daily Grapevine! Here is where we round up all the rumors, hearsay and tidbits of news from the wild world of professional wrestling that you may have missed over the weekend.

  • Dr. Bennet Omalu, the neuropathologist Will Smith portrayed in Concussion, wants to study Chyna's brain. According to her manager/best friend Anthony Anzaldo, lawyers contacted him sometime before she passed to see if she would be interested in joining a lawsuit against WWE involving brain injuries, and now that same party contacted him to ask Dr. Omalu can study her brain.

As for the circumstances of Chyna's death, Anzaldo claims that he found her on her bed with prescription pills for sleeping aids and anti-anxiety. He believes that her death didn't seem to be intentional. (Source: NY Daily News)

We say: If it weren't voluntary, then what happened was such a shame. Here's hoping Dr. Omalu can study her brain and make any new breakthroughs in neuroscience, as all athletes could definitely use it.

  • The Shane McMahon/Authority feud might apparently be starting in early May. It was supposed to kick off as early as last week at the RAW in London. While the feud is in the works, the date isn't definite. (Source: WON)

We say: Can it come sooner? Just so we can make some more sense out of this "Shane gets to run RAW as long as we approve on Twitter" storyline?

  • John Cena really isn't cleared to wrestle yet. Apparently the only thing he was cleared to do at WrestleMania was the Rock's segment. His timetable for return is either May or July, depending on who you ask. (Source: WON)

We say: You know what, we're actually fine with Cena gone at the moment. Let's let this Roman-centered main event scene (featuring guys like AJ Styles, Chris Jericho, and Cesaro, among others) cook.

What do you think? Do you want Shane to feud with the Authority? Let us know what you think in the comments!
