The Grapevine (4/7/16): Roode Awakening

Good morning, and welcome to the daily Grapevine! Here is where we round up all the rumors, hearsay and tidbits of news from the wild world of professional wrestling that you may have missed over the evening.

We have some more dirt coming out of WrestleMania:

  • Bobby Roode signed with WWE last week. As per usual, the onscreen appearance in the audience at Takeover: Dallas was a formality, much like what happened with Asuka back in Takeover: Brooklyn. Roode will be starting with NXT. This should also mean that Kota Ibushi's appearance is leading to him working with the WWE in some capacity, perhaps for the Global Cruiserweight Series. (Source: WrestlingInc)

We say: Could 2016 be NXT's biggest year yet, with a main event scene of Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Shinsuke Nakamura, Austin Aries, and Bobby Roode?

  • Seth Rollins could be back next month. He was seen limping backstage at WrestleMania, however, but the word is that he could return then. (Source: WrestlingInc)

We say: That's good to hear, but we feel that Rollins shouldn't rush an ACL recovery. Then again, he had already competed in the CrossFit Games. Let's hope he doesn't blow out his own return.

  • For anyone interested, here's the full list of NXT wrestlers who participated in Triple H's WrestleMania entrance: Finn Balor, Hideo Itami, The Revival, Chad Gable, Simon Gotch, Chris Girard (aka Biff Busick), Blake and Murphy, Enzo Amore, Elias Samson, referees Drake Wuertz, Shawn Bennett and Danilo Anfibio. (Source: WrestlingInc and Pro Wrestling Sheet)

We say: At least Hideo Itami finally gets a Mania moment?

What do you think? Are you excited to see Bobby Roode in Impact Wrestling 2.0 NXT? Let us know what you think in the comments!
