#MustWatchMonday (6/20/16): The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family, WWE Main Event (4/8/14)

In case you haven't watched Money in the Bank yet, beware as there will be spoilers ahead.

This is your last warning.

The main event of Money in the Bank held today (if you missed it, you can read the results here) featured a match for the WWE World Heavyweight championship between Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, with Rollins ultimately winning. His triumphant return to the top of the food chain was short-lived however, as Mr. Money in the Bank Dean Ambrose then came out, hit Rollins with the briefcase and cased in his guaranteed contract for a match against the champion to become the new champion. Within a span of three minutes or so, all three members of the stable formerly known as the Shield got to hold the WWE's top prize. It's not insane to think that the title scene will likely revolve around these three men for the near and even distant future.

The amazing thing about the Shield is the consistent impact they've had on the company, whether as a stable or as individual workers. United or divided, they have held championships, headlined pay-per-views, and are always viewed by the company in high regard.

Today, we look back at their time together as a cohesive unit, when finally, they had encountered another group that could challenge them and were a threat to dethrone them as the top group in the company. The Wyatt Family had been wreaking havoc throughout the WWE, and the rivalry between the two started when the Wyatts cost the Shield a shot at the Elimination Chamber match for the WWE Championship. This all culminated in a three on three match at the Elimination Chamber event, a match that was regarded by many to be their match of the year.

While the match at Elimination Chamber is the one most people are aware of, did you know that they had a match on Main Event as well? Yes. The Shield and the Wyatts, both forces that altered the landscape of the WWE, collided on the C-show, and it was nothing short of amazing.

The match builds off on their previous two encounters, and like the other two matches they've had (Elimination Chamber and on RAW), it was a spectacular car crash, with the Shield eventually emerging victorious.

Ever since their debut back in 2012, I've been excited to see what the Shield would do next. After this Money in the Bank PPV, they've given me no reason to lose that excitement.
