The Grapevine (6/17/16): Finn Watch, June 2016

Good morning, and this is your daily Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the founded and unfounded rumors abound the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the evening.

Here comes more speculation:

  • Apparently, the status of Finn Balor's debut is now "imminent." It was possible that it was being held back for the WWE Draft next month, but it sounds like it's happening next week, if not on Money in the Bank itself. In related news, as reported previously, Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton, and Neville are all scheduled to return within the next month. (Source: WON)

We say: We'll take this one with a grain of salt. Finn's call-up seems to have been imminent ever since he lost the title at an NXT house show, so we won't believe anything until it happens. Feel free to keep your antennae open on Monday morning, but we wouldn't keep our hopes up if we were you.

  • There are apparently six NXT names scheduled to be brought up via the WWE Draft. Plans are still changing, however, and this number could be added to or subtracted from. (Source: Wrestling Observer Live)

We say: This is supremely interesting. We wonder whether the NXT names are midcarders, or the brand's current main-eventers. If it's the latter, it would be great to see guys like Samoa Joe on the main show, but that leaves them with quite the vacuum to fill. If it's the former, it's going to be an uphill battle for them on the main shows. Let's see how WWE plays their hand.

Let us know what you think of this week's news in the comments!
