PWR's Scarlett Announces Her Retirement

Just when the Philippines thought it would be seeing the formal contract-signing at PWR Live: The ShawDown for the country's first-ever professional women's wrestling match at the Philippine Wrestling Revolution's September show, it looks like we're all in for a major downer.

PWR talent Scarlett, who was scheduled to face off against the popular announcer-turned-wrestler Crystal, broke word of her retirement from duty via her official Facebook page.

The message seems quite unambiguous and straightforward, suggesting broader opportunities outside the local wrestling scene that the Royal Flush's long-time "Queen of Pain" has long been putting off.

It's been a hell of a 2 year journey, but all things must come to an end. I won't disclose any specific reasons, some of it has to do with me being offered big jobs on TV and others which I just can't turn down anymore, and being unhappy with myself in the company.
On stage, I'm a bitchy, feisty, go-fuck-yourself gal, but behind the scenes I would sit and think to myself about how I really feel about things. Fast forward a few months, turning down opportunities for something I don't completely feel fulfilled with anymore started taking its toll, and until just last night, I found out a really heart-breaking thing about the supposed match which was about to take place.
I am fortunate enough to have met, chatted, talked, interacted with you amazing people who would constantly shout 'Scarlett' whenever I came out, and for those who came to the shows in general. Kayfabe aside, I loved it. I fucking loved it. Though I had to keep myself to being the bitch I'm booked to be, every time I stared you down, I was saying 'Thank You.'
I'm thankful for the people I worked with, you guys made my journey amazing, but things change and people do too.
I won't be updating this page anymore after this post, so if you choose to keep in contact with me or follow me, you can here.www.facebook.com/grace.vanderspoel
PWR has to do whats best for business, Scarlett has to do whats best for Grace and with that, I am formally announcing my departure.
Thank you, to everyone who I've had the pleasure of meeting, working with, having good times with and all, You all have a very special place in my heart. I will definitely miss how things used to be.
Much love, Grace Van Der Spoel/Scarlett

At the very least, this seems like an amicable parting of ways between her and the Philippine Wrestling Revolution, with PWR posting the following on their official Facebook page as well.

So there you have it, Revo-Nation. Looks like we're never going to find out if Scarlett had more to her than sneak attacks and cross armbreakers.

How do you feel about Scarlett's sudden retirement? And how do you think the Philippine Wresting Revolution and the Royal Flush are going to move on from this shocking development? Leave us your comments below.

From all of us here at the Smark Henry offices, we'd like to wish Scarlett the best in her future endeavors.
