WWE RAW Results (8/29/16): Universal Shock

Monday night in Houston, we got a new WWE Universal Champion... but not without controversy!

New champ! New champ!

RAW opened with all 4 combatants in the middle of the ring to stake their claim to the WWE Universal Championship.

Rollins took credit for the vacancy and argued he's the clear favorite to win. Owens claimed he'll fight smart, while Big Cass proclaimed that he's the biggest dog in the fight... and sizes do matter.

As for Roman Reigns? He started the fight, sending everyone packing!

Then, in the main event, all men gave it all they got in the Fatal 4-Way Elimination Match. RAW GM Mick Foley banned any outside interference during the match.

Big Cass was the 1st man eliminated, courtesy of a frog splash from Owens. Reigns was the next one out, c/o Seth... thanks to an interfering Triple H, who hit Roman with a Pedigree on the outside!

But, in a sudden twist, HHH Pedigreed Rollins, his former protege! Owens got the pin, and becomes the 2nd WWE Universal Champ!

Owens, Stephanie, Mick, the WWE Universe... everybody was in shock!

New Day and Bayley vs. "New Docs" and Dana

WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day congratulated Bayley for her RAW debut last week and for defeating Dana Brooke.

In comes Dana, who brought up talking to Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, who played doctor in another segment to ridicule the Dudley Boyz. All 6 were then involved in a tag team match later that night.

And for the 2nd consecutive week, Bayley pinned Dana for the victory! At ringside, Women's Champion Charlotte stared down Bayley.

Best of 7, Match #2

Cesaro and Sheamus faced off for match #2 of their Best of 7 Series for a championship opportunity.

The battle went to the outside, where Sheamus hit a back body drop on Cesaro against the steel ring post! Sheamus then tossed Cesaro back in the ring for a cloverleaf submission! Cesaro had no choice but to tap out! Sheamus now leads the series 2-0.

Is Steph fine with Lesnar fine?

Paul Heyman headed to RAW to address Lesnar's action at SummerSlam... and so was Stephanie McMahon.

Stephanie was initially angry at Lesnar and Heyman, but when Heyman offered an apology, paid the $500 fine, and brought up her being the heir to the WWE empire, Steph accepted the apology and just walked away.

Young and foolish

Darren Young finally picked up a win against his former tag partner Titus O'Neil... but via a roll-up.

As DY and his mentor Bob Backlund celebrated, Titus attacked both men!
