WWE RAW Results (9/5/16): Spoiling the Owens Show

Monday night in Kansas City, the "Kevin Owens Show" kicked off to a bad start.

Celebration?

The new Universal Champion Kevin Owens walked into RAW to celebrate his victory last week. While he acknowledged HHH's "nudge", Owens said that he deserves to win the title... and he doesn't deserve the fans that are "hijacking" his moment.

Out came Seth Rollins, who confronted not just Owens, but also RAW Commissioner Stephanie McMahon and GM Mick Foley, who both denied involvement in HHH's betrayal.

A scuffle ensued, prompting Steph to suspend Rollins indefinitely. But Foley overruled her, and even awarded Rollins a title match against Owens at Clash of Champions!

Stephanie warned Mick not to usurp her authority again, but Foley argued that he has the power to make matches and he booked the Rollins-Owens bout "in the best interest of the company."

Warming up

And speaking of making matches, Foley set up Owens vs. Sami Zayn in the main event, plus Rollins vs. Chris Jericho... after Y2J interrupted a confrontation between Owens and the 2 RAW head honchos.

Rollins and Jericho had one hell of a match, ending with a Pedigree by Seth for the win.

The main event, however, turned out differently. Owens defeated his former buddy once again, but after the match, Roman Reigns emerged from backstage to stare Owens down.

GM Foley then announced that Reigns will face Owens on next week's RAW. If Reigns wins, he will be added in the Clash of Champions main event, making it a 3-way bout for the Universal Title!

"Bad News" BOSS

I'm afraid that Sasha Banks has got some bad news.

The former Women's Champion was about to reveal the status of her health (after conferring with doctors) when Dana Brooke interrupted.

She was quickly met with a Bank Statement submission hold in the ring, then Sasha dropped the bombshell: she has been apparently cleared by doctors, and will take on Women's Champion Charlotte at Clash of Champions!

Charlotte's night couldn't have been any worse, too. Earlier in the night, she was defeated by Bayley in a non-title match when Dana's interference cost the champion yet again!

3-0

Sheamus looks to accomplish a clean sweep in his Best of 7 Series against Cesaro, as he defeated the Swiss Superman once again with a sick Brogue Kick!

Back to the future?

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson provided WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day a glimpse of their "future." But the trio confronted "The Old Day" and stuck it to them and the Club!

The rest of RAW
  • The Shining Stars pulled off an upset victory over Enzo Amore and Big Cass... by pulling up Enzo's tights in the winning pinfall!
  • Darren Young (w/ Bob Backlund) defeated Jinder Mahal, with Titus O'Neil watching from commentary. After the match, Titus signalled to attack Backlund once more, prompting Young to pounce on Titus to prevent him!
  • Another servings of squash matches for Nia Jax and Braun Strowman, who respectively defeated Ann Esposito and Sin Cara. But Nia Jax confronted Alicia Fox backstage after her match.
  • Hey, look, Bo Dallas is back! Carrying a "Bo-lieve in Bo" sign, a more vicious Dallas quickly took care of local talent Kyle Roberts.
