The Grapevine (11/11/16): What An Ell's Worth

Good morning, and this is your daily Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the founded and unfounded rumors abound the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the evening.

We have some good news for James Ellsworth fans (and bad news for James Ellsworth haters):

  • James Ellsworth is expected to sign a full WWE contract soon. In fact, he may have already done so. He has been completely on the road with WWE in their current European tour. (Source: WON)

We say: This is the first time WWE's latched on to something the fans are reacting to in a long time, but they have to be careful with Ellsworth. The depth of what he can actually bring to the table isn't that much right now, and if they're willing to invest in this guy, they need to bring him up properly. That means he needs more seasoning in the Performance Center, even if he was intended to have a goofy role on TV.

  • Sin Cara has apparently been exiled to SmackDown following the backstage altercation with Chris Jericho in the UK. Other than getting anger management classes, he's now working the SmackDown Europe tour instead of being sent home, No word yet on whether that means he'll be sent to the brand full-time. (Source: PWInsider)

We say: It looks all well for Sin Cara right now, but you can expect that he'll have hell to pay when everyone gets home.

  • Vince McMahon is still apparently in charge of both RAW and SmackDown, despite clear creative differences between the two. However, Triple H and former NXT head writer Ryan Ward are still hands-on in the blue brand, so that may be what accounts for the difference in quality. (Source: WON)

We say: That explains why SmackDown hasn't been completely perfect sometimes, but if Vince really does oversee that show, then we're impressed. But something does seem fishy here.
