PWR Path Of Gold Is Getting A Boost With Former NWA Canadian Junior Heavyweight Champion Billy Suede

Filipino pro wrestling fans are in for a treat this weekend as the Philippine Wrestling Revolution just announced that popular indie wrestler "Beautiful" Billy Suede will be wrestling in a special attraction match at PWR: Path of Gold 2017 on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the Unilab Bayanihan Center.

Facing him will a massive hulk of a man named Blackzilla—and while PWR may be playing coy with the identity of Suede's hooded opponent, long-time followers of the promotion may have some extremely clever guesses as to who he is, no chill.

This will definitely be an intriguing taste of what it's like to see two veterans of the global pro wrestling scene lock horns in a wrestling ring.

But first things first, who is Billy Suede, and why should we be excited about seeing him in a PWR ring?

Suede is a Fil-Canadian ten-year veteran of the pro wrestling industry, mostly making a mark under the banner of Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling (ECCW), a former NWA territory that's played host to such stellar names as Tyson Kidd, Tyler Breeze, Becky Lynch, and Harry Smith. His Wikipedia page indicates that he's been trained by Lance Storm—that's pretty exciting in itself—not to mention having cut his teeth with the likes of Kyle O'Reilly and Daniel Bryan in the ring.

So pedigree-wise, it's safe to say that "The Beautiful One" should be quite a sight to see. It should be no surprise that he's also one of ECCW's more decorated performers, having worn both its Heavyweight Championship and Tag Team Championship, and is a former NWA Canadian Junior Heavyweight Champion.

The man is also one heck of an athlete, dishing out off-the-rope springboard kicks, sky-high enzuigiris, and whip-quick rolling elbows at the drop of a hat. His patented Shiranui finisher (more popular among North American pro wrestling fans as Brian Kendrick's Sliced Bread #2) is a thing of beauty that's knocked out multiple opponents in various matches.

It's going to be an absolute delight to see Billy Suede rock a Filipino pro wrestling ring at Path of Gold, and we've got to wonder if he'll be playing a role in the Path of Gold match in itself. With only 16 of the 20 slots filled up as of press time, there's certainly some room in there for the slam-bang, cocky-ass theatrics of the Fil-Canadian star.

We'll see you all tomorrow at Path of Gold, Revo-Nation! And if you need a bit more of a push to get you hyped over the glory of the most beautiful man in pro wrestling, here's a quick match from early last year against one of his archrivals from ECCW, Air Adonis.
