The Grapevine (2/24/17): Trading Places

Good morning, and this is your daily Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the founded and unfounded rumors abound the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the evening.

If you've been waiting to see when the two WWE brands will be doing trades, here you go:

  • Roster trades between RAW and SmackDown will reportedly happen after WrestleMania 33. It's still not confirmed which Superstars are switching brands, but it's bound to happen before the Draft, which is presumably happening in July again. (Source: Wrestling Observer Radio)

We say: CESARO TO SMACKDOWN PLEASE. (Also, we don't know who on SmackDown would ever want to jump ship to RAW. Other than Kalisto, probably.)

  • Naomi suffered her title reign-ending injury during the championship match at Elimination Chamber itself. She injured her left knee performing a split-legged moonsault. Naomi had to relinquish her championship on this week's episode of SmackDown. It seems that the injury isn't that bad, as her timeline for return is expected to be around two months, but she'll still be likely to miss WrestleMania. She's already doing rehab. (Source: WON)

We say: That's highly unfortunate, and was most likely just due to the wear and tear of a WWE schedule. We wish Naomi a speedy recovery, so she can get back to her place in the Women's division on SmackDown.

  • Triple H and Vince McMahon were obviously not happy with the Rock deciding to call CM Punk from RAW. That little stunt, performed before the Rock filmed a scene for Fighting For My Family, was something WWE obviously didn't approve, but all they could do was tell Rock to wrap it up. (Source: PWInsider)

We say: Gee, who could've seen that reaction coming?
