The Grapevine (6/20/17): You Can't Rock With Him

Good morning, and this is the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the founded and unfounded rumors abound the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the evening.

Someone is on his way back to the WWE:

  • It seems Shelton Benjamin is in talks with the WWE again. Shelton was supposed to return last year, to SmackDown Live specifically after the WWE Draft, but sustained a shoulder injury right before he was to debut and never signed with the company. He's now medically cleared since March and is looking to sign a new deal with the company, appearing on SmackDown as originally planned. (Source: Pro Wrestling Sheet)

We say: That sounds absolutely great, but Shelton will be coming back to an even more stacked SmackDown than last year. We look forward to his return but wonder how much he'll fit in the two-hour A-show.

  • Kevin Owens has not suffered a leg injury after last night's Money in the Bank ladder match. It looked like he got a leg injury as he was seen being helped to the back. (Source: Wrestling Inc)

We say: Good to know, but these guys really need a break, WWE.

  • Shane Helms, Al Snow, and Simon Diamond have all left Impact Wrestling. All three were working as producers and agents for the company since 2015, 2008, and 2003, respectively. The company is cutting down on costs as they had seven producers. (Source: PWInsider)

We say: Let's hope this doesn't affect their match quality too bad.
