#MustWatchMonday (5/28/18): Are You Watching BOSJ?

Hello and welcome again to the weekly column that points you to wrestling you could and should (but don't have to) be watching. It's another #MustWatchMonday, y'all.

If you're paying even the least bit of attention to wrestling outside the WWE, you may already know that this year's Best of the Super Juniors tournament is ongoing 'til next week. For those of you who aren't familiar, it's basically the premiere junior heavyweight tournament in the world, giving us luminaries like Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, Ricochet, and a lot more. Basically, it's produced GIFfable moments like this:

Yeah, you know what we're talking about.

This year's Best of the Super Juniors tournament had a couple of surprises up its sleeve, namely the two people we have on this week's MWM. Pro Wrestling NOAH standout and former Impact Wrestling star Taiji Ishimori jumped ship to NJPW as Bullet Club's new BONE SOLDIER, and Ring of Honor's young gun Flip Gordon (a recurring guest on Being the Elite) managed to make it to Japan as well. Both members of the A block fought each other on the fifth day.

If you've never seen Flip Gordon wrestle, his first name is basically the thing he likes to do most in the ring. The more intense Ishimori tries his best to ground the high-flyin', ridiculously energetic Flip, and the fall comes just when he thinks he has Flip's number. It's a relatively by-the-numbers junior heavyweight match by NJPW standards, but if you're looking for a match that doesn't take forever, this should do.

And yes, I hear you—there are a lot of other matches in the tournament (it is running for a month, after all). There's a lot more where this came from. This one bout is but a mere representative of what you can expect from the best juniors around the world. They're the people your favorite wrestling promotions are watching at the moment. So if you're tired of one thing, you can always look elsewhere for your fix.
