ICYMI: Here's What Xavier Woods Was Up to in Manila

Most of you already know that Xavier Woods was here last November 30 for a Meet & Greet with his Filipino fans. It was Woods' second time to visit the Philippines, his previous visit having taken place in 2016 when WWE hosted its latest live event in Manila.

With Woods spending more or less just a day in the Philippines, you'd expect that he just did his meet and greet, a couple of other things, and pack it up. On the contrary, he did quite a lot during his brief stay here. Check out how Xavier Woods' day in Manila went below.

Upon arriving in Manila on an early Friday morning, Woods kicked things off by visiting one of Manila's scenic spots—Manila Bay. He did so in style, catching the scenery while riding the classic kalesa.

While in the area, he also got to sample some local street food—calamares and some orange soda in a plastic bag (more on that legendary balut in a bit). Also, he found a new friend in a little red chick.

After that morning walk, it was time for a quick trip to the gym. Woods met up with Special Olympics Philippines athletes, as well as ASEAN Basketball League champions Alab Pilipinas, for some basketball drills and a game. Here he is meeting Alab Pilipinas coach (and Philippine basketball icon) Jimmy Alapag:

And here's Woods in action against one of Special Olympics Philippines' athletes. Bonus points if you can name who that former NBA player (and current Alab Pilipinas import) is on the right:

After quickly freshening up at the hotel, Woods then engaged several members of the media in a roundtable discussion, where we were present and had the chance to talk to him for a while. Despite the hectic schedule, Woods took on the questions and shared his thoughts on the current gaming and esports scene, his YouTube channel UpUpDownDown, wrestling, and many other things in between.

Afterward, it was time for the Meet & Greet. From Shangri-La at the Fort, Woods was quickly whisked away to SM Mall of Asia, where he met and had fun with his numerous Filipino fans.

One of the night's memorable moments includes Woods getting to sample the iconic Filipino snack, balut.

He also got to try his hand at the traditional Filipino folk dance tinikling.

And, of course, he got to meet his Filipino fans, young and old alike.

All that meeting and greeting must've worked up an appetite for Xavier Woods, as he got to sample some more local food afterward. We wonder if he had some of his signature pancakes to go along with this feast:

The night didn't end there, however, as it was time for some video games. Back in 2016, Woods paid a visit to PlayBook Video Game Lounge in Circuit Makati for a couple of rounds. He enjoyed it so much, he decided to run it back for his recent visit as well!

Here, Woods met up with members of the local FGC community and got his game on, playing some video games and meeting even more fans. He also came across fellow video game enthusiast and local star, Ryan "Filipino Champ" Ramirez.

Woods also got to mingle with several names from the Philippine wrestling community. Among them were PWR's Ken Warren, ring announcer Poch Estrada, and Super Vintend0, whom Woods had already met when he was here in 2016.

Finally, it was time for Woods to bid the Philippines adieu and head to Malaysia for his next visit, where he was immediately accosted by a customs agent to not be who he said he was:

And that wrapped up Xavier Woods' visit to the Philippines. Despite the rather hectic schedule (we hope he got some rest in, at least!), it looked to be a rather productive visit as he got to engage with different kinds of fans, and even got in some quality gaming time.

Here's to hoping we see him again soon.
