The Grapevine (3/15/19): The Best Thing Since Wrestling

Good morning, and this is the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the founded and unfounded rumors abound the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the week. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!

Eminem will apparently be working with the WWE this year:

  • WWE has reportedly reached a deal with 2K Sports and rapper Eminem to work with them on many fronts this year. The deal includes Eminem contributing to the WWE 2K20 soundtrack, as well as apparently appearing on an episode of SmackDown Live and having his own custom championship belt. The rapper's team has denied this story, but Fightful continues to stand by it. (Source: Fightful)
We say: Looks like no one on any side of the deal is happy about this news getting leaked, but if it is true, then it's kind of awesome to see the Rap God work with WWE.
  • There are no solid plans for SmackDown Women's Champion Asuka yet heading into WrestleMania. The current direction seems to be a triple threat defense against Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, but that isn't final yet. The other rumored plan was a defense against Lacey Evans, but that's reportedly been nixed in favor of an Evans/Natalya feud on RAW. (Source: WON)
We say: Poor Asuka getting a little overlooked in the light of the RAW Women's Championship feud. We hope she gets a good story, as she deserves more.
