The Grapevine (3/8/19): No More Mrs. Nice Bitch

Good morning, and this is the Grapevine! This section of Smark Henry is where we round up all the founded and unfounded rumors abound the pro wrestling scene that you may have missed over the week. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt!

Ronda Rousey did get shoot offended:

  • The Twitter exchanges between Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey aren't scripted at all. Many in the WWE believe that Ronda was legitimately offended at Becky's shot at Travis Browne. The use of the word "fake" in Ronda's tweets would generally be frowned upon by the WWE. (Source: Fightful)
We say: It's a good thing WWE was agile enough to turn Ronda heel this week, because all of this rhetoric really isn't doing her any favors. Also not a good look to end up working herself into a shoot.
  • Despite rumors of Dean Ambrose staying with the company now that Roman Reigns is back, the impression is still that he's leaving WWE. As of this week's episode of RAW, the feeling backstage is that Ambrose is still on his way out. (Source: Wrestling Observer Radio)
We say: We think we'll never find out the truth until his contract does run out in April.
  • AJ Styles still has not signed a new WWE contract, but is reportedly going to before it expires in April. He is expected to stay despite his clear ties to All Elite Wrestling. (Source: WON)
We say: It probably wouldn't be surprising if he did jump ship to AEW as well, but Styles will do what's best for his family.
  • Jeff Jarrett and Paul Heyman have been added to the WWE Creative team. Jarrett was made a producer after his return at Royal Rumble, while Heyman has been helping with the Seth Rollins/Brock Lesnar and Becky Lynch/Ronda Rousey/Charlotte Flair storylines. (Source: PWInsider)
We say: Let's hope they can help with the execution, because even though they're top-level additions to the writing team, it won't matter if Vince McMahon can't get himself in order.
