"La Estrella" Alex Cuevas To Make PWR Debut at Championship Spirit!

As if the blockbuster double main event at PWR Live: Championship Spirit weren't enough to hype up Philippine wrestling fans, the show just got an unexpected shot in the arm.

In the midst of what is already a crazy ride thanks to GrabCamus' Indecision 2019, there will be a huge international singles match taking place at the very same show, with PWR’s Canadian Dragon, Zayden Trudeau, taking on one of the fastest rising stars in the South East Asian wrestling scene, Singapore Pro Wrestling's Alex Cuevas!

This match should very well be a dark horse contender for match of the show, especially when you consider what both men can bring to the table. For Philippine wrestling fans, they already know what to expect when it comes to the Canadian Dragon’s high-risk, high-impact offense, the ingredients that make for an exciting bout and a hyped up crowd.

Let’s not forget his already-iconic match of the night against Mr. Philippine Wrestling, Jake de Leon, at Wrevolution X 2018, as well as his matches against Bolt and Ralph Imabayashi. While he didn’t succeed at toppling Mike Madrigal in the PWR Championship Number One Contender’s Tournament, a win over one of SPW’s finest should help kickstart his campaign to become a future title contender.

On the other hand, Alex Cuevas has more to prove in his first Philippine appearance. Since his debut in 2016, La Estrella has since lived up to his moniker and became a huge star in his own right, dazzling fans with his own brand of fast-paced action. His style of wrestling has since become a highlight of delight that has seen success not only in his native Singapore, but also in countries like Japan (where he competed for Jinsei Shinzaki’s Michinoku Pro Wrestling), Chile, and even Russia!

His ventures throughout the world, which include expeditions in Europe and Australia, have helped him become the touted star that he is today. As if to validate his status as a star to watch out for, in the same way Vlad Synnsyk recently took on OWE’s T-Hawk at the last show, he, too, will get a chance against a member of #STRONGHEARTS as he takes on El Lindaman—who also showed up at AEW Double Or Nothing—in Cuevas' home promotion of SPW later this month.

Just like that, PWR Live: Championship Spirit has become an even more must-watch show, with this match having the potential to steal the entire thing. Will Zayden Trudeau be able to best one of Singapore’s best en route to another championship showdown, or will La Estrella show exactly why all the hype is justified?
