EXCLUSIVE: A Look At Australia's The Foundation

Extra! Extra! Read all about it! The Migz is taking over for #NitPickRick today to bring you the scoop regarding Philippine Wrestling Revolution's next event, PWR Renaissance. If you're looking for a primer on PWR's next visitors from the land down under, The Foundation, then you've come to the right place!

As most of you may already know, PWR Live: Championship Spirit's co-main event three-way winner-take-all title match ended via no contest when a group of masked men stormed the ring to assault all three champions. A video package of The Foundation then played as they declared war against PWR's top dogs implying that they were behind that heinous attack. They also promised to take all of Philippine Wrestling Revolution's championships back to their homeland of Australia and show the Revo-Nation why they refer to themselves as "The Godfathers of Philippine Wrestling."

Now, Smark Henry answers that lingering question in your head. "Who is The Foundation?"

The collective known as The Foundation is a faction hailing from the Australian indie scene. They have been mainstays of AAW (All Action Wrestling) but they have members who have competed all over the globe. They have also faced their fair share of international wrestlers from different promotions as well. Well-known names such as Ken Anderson, Buff Bagwell, Al Snow, Brian Kendrick, and Paul London have all fallen to members of The Foundation so that proves they are a group that is not to be taken lightly.

The head honcho of the stable is Andrew "The Shark" Carter. A top-tier international talent who was trained by WWE alumnus Lance Storm, The Shark has headlined events in Australia and the United States, while also having worked in numerous countries. Some of the names he's faced are Alberto Del Rio, Rob Van Dam, and Christopher Daniels.

As a former NWA Australian Champion—along with having several accolades and championships—he also has the distinction of being the first Australian to ever challenge for the ROH World Championship. Now, he will also be the first Australian to ever challenge for the PWR Championship. This is probably why he chose to target the biggest fish in PWR, Ang Kampeon ng Pilipinas, QUATRO.

Chris Target is no stranger to gold as well. Having held the NWA Australia Heavyweight Championship among other titles, he also successfully defended his AAW World Championship against ROH veteran Jay Lethal during their match at AAW's Anniversary XI which is a huge feat in itself.

He has proven time and again that he is talented in the ring, thus earning himself the nickname "The Main Attraction." He will be facing "The Golden Boy" Chino Guinto for the Philippine Excellence Championship.

"The Kriminal Expert" Killah is a former AAW Champion and AAW Tag Team Champion. Armed with his Killing Spree finisher, he has been in the ring with international talents such as Bobby Lashley, Tommy Dreamer, and Gangrel. He now has his sights set on PWR's All Out War(la) Champion, Martivo. I expect this match to be brutal and violent not only because of his name (which is a derivative of "killer") but also due to some of the clips I've seen him in. Just watch this clip from AAW wherein he tries to hit his opponent with a hammer during a match or his performance in this TLC match.

"The Philippine Dream" Julio Garcia and his brother, Marco "The Wonderman" Garcia, will be facing off against the teams of The Network (James "Idol" Martinez & Sam Baltazar) and the PWR Tag Team Champions The Kakaibros (Mh4rckie and Kh3ndrick) for the tag titles.

Julio has already faced the likes of Booker T and Scotty Too Hotty while Marco has been in the ring with Scott Steiner and Robbie E. Winning 2018's West Australian Pro Wrestling's Tag Team of the Year, their combined experience both as singles and tag team wrestlers will prove to be a hurdle that both the 'Bros and The Network will need to overcome.

I'm looking forward to seeing these talents in action. I'm obviously rooting for the PWR guys because of homecourt advantage. Nonetheless, I hope I see them all bring the best out of each other because, in the end, it's us fans who win when we start chanting "Sulit bayad!" after an exciting set of matches.
